Short Biography

Davis Haney is a Research Assistant in the Multimodal Freight Program at Texas A&M Transportation Institute.  Davis started at TTI as an undergraduate student worker in March of 2024, while obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies of Geographic Information Science & Technology (GIST).  Post-graduation, Davis started as a salaried employee in the Multimodal Freight Program in January of 2025.

During his time at TTI, Davis has assisted with a variety of research projects, concerning subject matter such as railroad bridges, highway-rail grade crossings, hazardous materials, and community railroad safety.  Davis has performed tasks such as creating and updating various maps used in TTI research reports, performing satellite imagery analysis and data entry to build a Texas railroad bridge database, normalizing and correcting data concerning Texas rail lines, crossings, and bridges, as well as assisting in the creation of research reports through literature review and the creation of data tables.

Davis is passionate about helping others and is excited to be able to do so by contributing to transportation research efforts at TTI through his skills in GIST.  In the future, Davis plans to obtain a graduate degree to continue his education and contribute further towards his passion.
